The Role of QC Inspectors

Role of a QA/QC Inspector
- Perform all daily inspection and testing necessary to achieve required construction quality.
- Carry out inspection and checking for all quality-related procedures on site per approved method statements and inspection test plans.
- Coordinate with consultants and site in-charge for inspection meetings and closure of Non-Compliance Reports.
- Report to the QA/QC Manager and monitor all activities related to the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Manage all QA/QC documents — certificates, calibration records, test results, inspection requests and NCRs.
- Responsible for quality and workmanship of every activity, with thorough knowledge of Civil, Architectural and Structural disciplines.
- Develop method statements including risk assessment, JSEA, Inspection Test Plans and checklists.
- Carry out internal audits as scheduled in the Project Quality Plan (PQP).
- Liaise with technical engineers for submission of material submittals to the consultant.
Welding Inspection
Weld inspections evaluate size, strength and discontinuities against codes and standards specific to the fabrication application. Undersized welds may not withstand service stresses; weld discontinuities (defects) can cause premature failure through reduced strength or added stress concentrations.
Duties of a Welding Inspector
