Who can enrol in EGAI courses?

Our courses are open to engineering students (ECE, EEE, E&I, Mech, CSE, IT), diploma holders, and working professionals looking to upskill. Specific eligibility details are mentioned on each course page.

What modes of training are available?

We offer Online, Offline (at our Chennai centre), and Hybrid modes. You can choose the mode that best suits your schedule when enquiring.

Are weekday and weekend batches available?

Yes. We run weekday, weekend, and fast-track batches to accommodate both students and working professionals.

How do I enrol?

Do you provide certificates on completion?

Yes. All programmes conclude with a recognised certificate. You can verify any certificate issued by EGAI using our online certificate verification portal.

Embedded Systems & PCB Design

What is an Embedded System?

An embedded system is a dedicated computing unit embedded within a larger electrical or mechanical system — combining hardware, software, and mechanical parts to perform specific functions.

Which microcontrollers and platforms are covered?

Our curriculum covers 8051, ARM Cortex-M, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and STM32 platforms, along with embedded C/C++ programming.

Is PCB Design covered separately?

Yes. PCB Design is offered both as a standalone certified programme and as part of the PG Diploma in Industrial IoT & PCB Designing. Topics include schematic capture, layout, DRC, and fabrication.

What software tools are taught for PCB design?

We teach industry-standard tools including KiCad and Altium Designer, covering schematic design, PCB layout, component libraries, and Gerber file generation.

What career roles can I target after the Embedded Systems course?

PLC & SCADA / Industrial Automation

What is a PLC and why is it important?

A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is a ruggedised industrial computer used to automate electromechanical processes. PLCs are the backbone of modern manufacturing and process industries.

Which PLC brands are covered in the training?

We cover Siemens (S7-300/400/1200/1500), Allen Bradley (Rockwell), and Mitsubishi PLCs, along with ladder logic, function block, and structured text programming.

What is SCADA and how does it relate to PLC?

SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) is a software system used to monitor and control industrial processes. It works in tandem with PLCs to provide a human-machine interface (HMI) for plant operators.

Do I need prior automation experience to join?

No prior automation experience is required. The course starts from fundamentals and progressively covers advanced topics. A basic electrical or electronics background is helpful.

What does the Oil & Gas course cover?

The course covers the fundamentals of hydrocarbon formation, upstream and downstream processes, piping engineering, NDT inspection, plant layout, P&ID reading, and safety standards.

Is Piping Engineering the same as Mechanical Engineering?

Piping Engineering is a specialised discipline within mechanical engineering focused on the design, routing, stress analysis, and support of piping systems in industrial plants.

What software is used in Piping Engineering?

We cover AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS (Plant Design Management System), CAESAR II for stress analysis, and SP3D for 3D piping design.

What is the scope for Piping Engineers in India?

Piping engineers are in high demand in oil refineries, petrochemical plants, LNG terminals, power plants, and offshore platforms. India's expanding energy sector offers strong career prospects.

Can a fresher from Mechanical Engineering join Piping Engineering training?

NDT (Non-Destructive Testing)

What is NDT?

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is a set of techniques used to evaluate the properties of a material or component without causing damage. It is essential for quality assurance in manufacturing, construction, and in-service inspection.

What NDT methods are taught?

We cover Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT), Visual Testing (VT), and Eddy Current Testing (ET) as per ASNT standards.

What is ASNT certification?

ASNT (American Society for Nondestructive Testing) certification is an internationally recognised credential for NDT professionals. We prepare candidates for Level I and Level II certification examinations.

What industries use NDT?

NDT is used in oil & gas, aerospace, power generation, shipbuilding, railways, construction, and automotive industries for quality control and safety inspection.

What is the duration of the NDT ASNT Level II course?

The NDT ASNT Level II programme is typically 1 month. Duration may vary based on the number of methods selected.

QA / QC

What is the difference between QA and QC?

Quality Assurance (QA) is process-oriented — focused on preventing defects through systematic activities. Quality Control (QC) is product-oriented — focused on identifying defects in finished products through inspection and testing.

What topics are covered in the QA/QC course?

The course covers welding inspection, material inspection, NDT methods, ISO standards (9001, 45001), API standards, piping & pressure vessel QC, documentation, and third-party inspection procedures.

Is QA/QC relevant for non-engineering graduates?

While an engineering background is preferred, diploma holders in mechanical, metallurgy, or related fields can also pursue QA/QC training with good career prospects.

What certifications can I get after QA/QC training?

After our QA/QC training you will be eligible to appear for CSWIP, AWS CWI, and ASNT NDT certifications, all of which are highly valued by international oil & gas companies.

IoT (Internet of Things)

What is IoT and why should I learn it?

IoT (Internet of Things) connects physical devices to the internet, enabling data collection, remote monitoring, and automation. It is one of the fastest-growing technology domains with applications in smart homes, industrial automation, healthcare, and agriculture.

What hardware and platforms are covered in the IoT course?

We cover Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP8266/ESP32, and Node MCU platforms, along with sensors, actuators, and communication protocols like MQTT, HTTP, and Bluetooth.

What cloud platforms are used in IoT training?

We cover AWS IoT Core, Google Cloud IoT, and ThingSpeak for cloud connectivity, data visualisation, and remote monitoring.

What is Industrial IoT (IIoT)?

Industrial IoT (IIoT) applies IoT concepts to manufacturing and industrial environments — connecting machines, sensors, and control systems to enable predictive maintenance, real-time monitoring, and smart factory solutions.

PDMS, BMS & Instrumentation

What is PDMS?

PDMS (Plant Design Management System) is a 3D CAD software used for designing engineering plants. It is widely used in oil & gas, petrochemical, and power plant industries for piping, structural, and equipment design.

What is BMS and where is it used?

A Building Management System (BMS) is an automated control system installed in buildings to manage and monitor HVAC, lighting, fire safety, and security systems. It is used in commercial buildings, hospitals, data centres, and industrial facilities.

What is Instrumentation Engineering?

Instrumentation Engineering focuses on the design, installation, calibration, and maintenance of measurement and control instruments used in industrial processes — including pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.

What control systems are covered in Instrumentation training?

We cover DCS (Distributed Control System), PLC-based control, field instruments calibration, P&ID reading, and HART/FOUNDATION Fieldbus communication protocols.
